MpRAD51 missing experimental subject This study functionally characterized MpRAD51, the M. polymorpha ortholog of the homologous-recombination recombinase RAD51. Its DNA-repair functions were confirmed biochemically, and loss of MpRAD51 revealed a role in regulating DNA-damage-induced development and differentiation, preventing growth arrest under genotoxic conditions.
